Who doesn’t want to live in a beautiful home? There’s nothing better… what isn’t always to everyone’s’ liking… is decorating. Yes — taking home improvement into your own hands will always give you the look and feel that you’ve always wanted. However, it simply isn’t for everyone.
The decorating industry is huge, with homeowners paying billions of dollars every year to have the perfect home. It’s a good time to be a painter decorator… if you enjoy that type of work. That’s just it isn’t it? Most people just don’t enjoy painting and decorating themselves. Or, maybe they do… maybe they enjoy doing it… but they don’t know how. (I’m not sure how someone wouldn’t know how to operate a can of paint and a paint brush… but it’s possible — right?) Heck, some people might know how to decorate… but they understand that they’re no good.People like that know their limits and understand how to get the result they need — therefore, employ a painter decorator!
Another important consideration to quality is speed. I once employed a painter decorator. I was amazed at the speed of the man! He literally finished in one day what would have taken me a week. How do they do that? I’m guessing it’s all about the tools… erm… brushes… you know what I mean. Now that I think about it… he did have a roller that was almost three times as long as my one. It’s no wonder he was so quick… he was able to do three times as much work with one roll.
Costs? Well, that depends. There are different types fo painter decorators. For example, one of my friends is the arty type… she’s worked for some a-list celebrities in her time. Now… she’s not the quickest… but it’s not about speed in the market she works in. It’s all about quality. Her clients would rather she took all year and created a space that they will fall in love with, than rush the job and end with an inferior product.
On the other end of the spectrum you get the wham-bam-thank-you-maam decorators. They’re cheap, abundant, and fast! But don’t expect them to turn your home into a wonder of the world. They’ll make it look newer and fresh… but that’s about it.
When considering decoration, some thought needs to be put into colour schemes and alike. What’s that saying? Blue and green should never be seen but green and blue will do. I never really got that… maybe one of my friends can explain it to me… anyway, my point is that if you’re not good with colours — like me — get help! Also, when it comes to point… you get what you pay for. I’ll never forget the time I bought cheap paint. It took ten coats to cover the old cover! It worked out more expensive in the long run than buying the quality branded paint as I had to use so much of the stuff!

Firstly we are going to look at what the first steps are when planning a new loft conversion
Loft conversion – guide for beginners
Transforming an empty attic is not as easy as they sound. Basically, a loft conversion will be done in order to use the empty attic as a bedroom or as an office space. It also depends on the needs of the users. Many people in Britain tend to show interest towards this process of home improvement. Even though huge work is involved in this process, these people prefer doing this in order to perceive their enhanced benefits. It can also be said that most British families build a loft conversion in order to obtain additional space for their family members. The below mentioned are some of the tips which will help beginners get off to the best possible start.
Are they suitable?
Before starting the work, they are supposed to make sure the loft is suitable for conversion. This is the first and foremost important factor which is to be noted for starting the loft conversion. Inspection of the roof space, measuring their height, knowing about the roof structure and revealing their pitch angle are the most important factors which will determine whether the attic is suitable for conversion. If everything sounds good in this analysis, one can engage themselves in the loft conversion process without any constraint. If it is not, the house owner is supposed to point out some other suitable place to provide the best environment for their family. When helping a couple in Glasgow the local Joiner we worked with made it crystal clear this was the most important part and was critical when starting any loft project. The company we worked with on this project were excellent in making this point clear. You can check out some videos on Builders and Joiners Glasgow Youtube page.
How to use the space?
Once if the house owner has declared that the space in their attic is suitable for a loft conversion, as the next step, they must think of using the space in an effective way. They can convert it into an extra living space, bathroom or playing room depending upon their needs. But they are supposed to make sure that they are using the space at the best.
Budget and time
In case, if they have decided on how to use the space, the next thing they are supposed to declare is their budget. In case if their design is too complicated and time-consuming, it may require more budget. But, if the design is simple and if they are formulating it under considerable budget, they can complete the work within 5 weeks. It is to be noted that even though budget must be a concern, there should not be any compromise in the safety features.
Start the work
Once after setting with all these factors, the work on loft conversion can be started. It is to be noted that loft conversion may be a noisy process but they are not as noisy as e.g an extension on the ground floor. Each and everything in this process is to be handled carefully in order to ensure the safety aspects. People who find it more difficult and time-consuming to do this work on their own can also hire the help of the loft conversion carpenters in Britain. The professionals will convert the loft according to the budget of their clients and they will also complete the work on time with greater perfection.
