Design the dream home

Who doesn’t want to live in a beautiful home? There’s nothing better… what isn’t always to everyone’s’ liking… is decorating. Yes — taking home improvement into your own hands will always give you the look and feel that you’ve always wanted. However, it simply isn’t for everyone.

The decorating industry is huge, with homeowners paying billions of dollars every year to have the perfect home. It’s a good time to be a painter decorator… if you enjoy that type of work. That’s just it isn’t it? Most people just don’t enjoy painting and decorating themselves. Or, maybe they do… maybe they enjoy doing it… but they don’t know how. (I’m not sure how someone wouldn’t know how to operate a can of paint and a paint brush… but it’s possible — right?) Heck, some people might know how to decorate… but they understand that they’re no good.People like that know their limits and understand how to get the result they need — therefore, employ a painter decorator!

Another important consideration to quality is speed. I once employed a painter decorator. I was amazed at the speed of the man! He literally finished in one day what would have taken me a week. How do they do that? I’m guessing it’s all about the tools… erm… brushes… you know what I mean. Now that I think about it… he did have a roller that was almost three times as long as my one. It’s no wonder he was so quick… he was able to do three times as much work with one roll.

Costs? Well, that depends. There are different types fo painter decorators. For example, one of my friends is the arty type… she’s worked for some a-list celebrities in her time. Now… she’s not the quickest… but it’s not about speed in the market she works in. It’s all about quality. Her clients would rather she took all year and created a space that they will fall in love with, than rush the job and end with an inferior product.

On the other end of the spectrum you get the wham-bam-thank-you-maam decorators. They’re cheap, abundant, and fast! But don’t expect them to turn your home into a wonder of the world. They’ll make it look newer and fresh… but that’s about it.

When considering decoration, some thought needs to be put into colour schemes and alike. What’s that saying? Blue and green should never be seen but green and blue will do. I never really got that… maybe one of my friends can explain it to me… anyway, my point is that if you’re not good with colours — like me — get help! Also, when it comes to point… you get what you pay for. I’ll never forget the time I bought cheap paint. It took ten coats to cover the old cover! It worked out more expensive in the long run than buying the quality branded paint as I had to use so much of the stuff!
